Henderson Middle School: Voice to the World at Henderson Middle School is an after-school program, an elective as part of the Communities in Schools Renaissance Program. VW couples technology literacy with reading literacy and education, allowing students to apply what they learn after school with what they are learning during school.
The focus of the program is keyboarding, and VW currently uses a free, online website to provide keyboarding instruction to the students. Program coordinators also instruct in Microsoft Office, Internet safety, scholarship search, basic website design and programming, public speaking and presentation skills, and other 21st-century skills vital for today's citizens. Finally, students create a different form of content each semester to make VW aware of the challenges and issues they are facing. Check out the Voices tab to learn more.
