Refugees

Refugee and Immigration Service (RIS): Voice to the World at RIS is a program designed for refugees and immigrants relocated to the U.S. after experiencing unrest, dislocation, and sometimes violence in their home countries. VW  focuses on technology literacy with special attention given to English communication, U.S. culture, 21st century skills and job preparation.

The main goal of the program is to provide refugees and immigrants with a basic knowledge of computers while integrating them to American culture through open discussions and classroom activities. The program strives to provide essential services needed for participants  to make an easy transition to a new society and way of life. VW has been running classes in RIS since the spring of 2011.
